In the 2023/24 academic year, MyWorld is offering 20 Scholarships for home (UK) fee-paying students who want to study a creative technology industries related course to help with their future and career ambitions in the industry. The MyWorld Scholarship Scheme will contribute towards tuition fees for students from groups which are underrepresented in Higher Education to study (either full-time or part-time) on a relevant postgraduate taught programme at the University of Bristol, University of Bath, Bath Spa University or University of the West of England (UWE Bristol).
Available funding:
- 20 MyWorld Scholarships for students entering the 2023/24 academic year to contribute towards tuition fees of up to £5,000 each. For successful award holders, this will be pro-rata for the amount of credit the student is studying, for example, if the student is studying for a postgraduate masters degree on a full-time basis then £5,000 will be paid against their tuition fees as a fee reduction/waiver, if the student is studying part-time and therefore only undertaking half the amount of credits of a full postgraduate master in the 2023/24 academic year then the Scholarship awarded will be £2,500, or if the student is studying for a postgraduate certificate (60 credits) then they will receive £1,666.
- For successful MyWorld Scholarship holders, this will be payable in one instalment directly to the University at which they are studying to reduce their tuition fee.
- We expect to award at least four students from each University involved in the scheme (University of Bristol, University of Bath, Bath Spa University or University of the West of England (UWE Bristol)) to receive a MyWorld Scholarship, assuming that at least four qualifying applications are received.
- Successful awardees undertaking a two-year (or more) postgraduate programme will only receive the Scholarship in the first year of study (the academic year 2023/24).

Change of circumstances
Suspension
- If you suspend your studies, it may be necessary to adjust the level of MyWorld Scholarship fee waiver paid in line with any adjustments to the tuition fee for the academic year 2023/24.
- If you restart your studies the following year, any balance of fee waiver not paid in the first year may be taken in your second year of study, but no more than the original MyWorld Scholarship fee waiver awarded will be paid over the duration of your studies.
Deferral
- The award is for the 2023/24 academic year only.
- If, after being awarded the fee waiver, you decide to defer your studies to 2024/25, your MyWorld Scholarship fee waiver award offer will be rescinded and may be redistributed to a reserve candidate who is starting in the 2023/24 academic year.
Repeat study
- If you are required to repeat any part of your studies, the fee waiver will not be applied again during the repeat period.
Withdrawal
- If you withdraw from your programme, your tuition fees may be adjusted by the University, depending on when you withdraw.
- If, on withdrawal, your tuition fees are reduced to less than the MyWorld Scholarship, the fee waiver will be reduced to match the fees being charged, meaning you will have no remaining fee liability.
- If, on withdrawal, your tuition fees are reduced from the original fee level but remain greater than your MyWorld Scholarship fee waiver (up to a maximum of £5,000), the full fee waiver awarded will remain in place. However, you will be liable to pay any remaining tuition fees over the value of your fee waiver.
Reserve applicants
To ensure that all available funding is distributed, the Panel will select a number of students to be on a reserve list. Such applicants will be notified accordingly. Students on the reserve list may be contacted at a later date to be informed that they have been offered an award should funding become available. Being placed on the reserve list is not a guarantee of an award.
