After strong success in 2024, MyWorld, a global centre for creative technology innovation, is returning to South by Southwest (SXSW) festival in Austin, Texas. Celebrating the convergence of music, film, culture and technology, SXSW represents a natural environment for MyWorld as it attracts businesses to the West of England to explore the future of content production, distribution, and experience.

Building on a hugely popular showcase in the Immersive Futures Lab in 2024, featuring ground-breaking work from Anagram, Lux Aeterna, Condense and Meaning Machine, MyWorld will now take advantage of UK House, SXSW’s key location for UK innovation, technology, and creativity, by hosting its own event within its walls.

On Sunday 9th March from 4 pm – 5 pm at UK House Garden, MyWorld will be hosting the panel “Immersion and Presence – engaging, involving and affecting your audience”.

Chaired by MyWorld Business Partnerships Lead, Katie Martin, the panel will explore immersive experience through the lenses of:

Gabrielle Shiner-Hill, Bureau555

3D fabric digitisation specialists

Ed Jenkins, Volumetric Video

Experts in AR and volumetric music performance

John Hopkins, Celestial

Innovators in using drones for immersive public displays

Sean Carroll, Anagram

VR and mental health awareness pioneers

The panel will interrogate immersive experience, in its broadest sense, and how R&D with new content forms meets and interacts with audiences in different ways.

Following this, MyWorld will be co-sponsoring Happy Hour at UK House from 5.30 pm – 6.30 pm alongside Stagerunner, MARS Volume and The GREAT campaign. This invitation-driven event will be a chance for those in film and TV to come together, connect and celebrate innovation in the industry.

“We’re delighted to again be attending South by Southwest, in many ways it feels like a spiritual home for MyWorld, a place focused on innovation, creativity and tech. We were so warmly received last time with such an interest in what we’re doing that we can’t wait to go back and continue to grow the MyWorld brand and West of England presence with an international audience”.
